If you are an individual with connections to Ealing, or belong to an organisation or business and want to help groups in Ealing make a real difference to their communities – then our Grassroots Endowment fund is for you.

As part of the Grassroots Grants Scheme, EBCC will be managing an Endowment Match Challenge Fund which will ensure smaller groups can benefit from easy to access grants, not just today, but in the longer term. These can be used for capital and ongoing costs, to help these groups make a real difference in the community.

Under the scheme, for every pound you donate to the Grassroot Endowment Fund, the government will add a pound. If you donate using Gift Aid the government will also match that. So, a £1 donation using Gift Aid becomes £1.28 and when matched by the government it becomes £2.56. That is the Endowment Match Challenge in a nutshell.

Just think a £10 a month standing order becomes £12.80 with Gift Aid, this is doubled by the government to £25.60 a month, or £307.20 a year. With just ten people making this commitment, it becomes £3,072.

Whether you live in the borough, belong to a faith group, are a business, housing association or other organisation you can help our Grassroots Grants Fund grow and help make a real difference to your local community.

For larger donations, donors can also make ‘named’ donations, eg in memory of family members. There is also the flexibility with any donation to ask for it to go towards specific initiatives for example to support the development of children’s activities.
