Background

The Ealing and Brentford Consolidated Charity (EBCC) is a small locally based charity that has a limited amount of funds to give each year by way of grants.

The EBCC is committed to providing routes out of poverty for the residents of Ealing and Brentford who are in need, hardship or distress. Our vision is to create communities where those on low incomes have dignity, respect and genuine opportunities to escape poverty.

Through our grant programme we aim to develop supportive partnerships with community and voluntary organisations engaged in appropriate work tackling poverty and the root causes of it.

Funding Available

We expect to make funds of approximately £200,000 per annum available for grants. Whilst there is no minimum size of grant, the maximum amount which will be awarded is £40,000. The average grant however, is likely to be about £6,000 in total.

The amounts may be spread over one, two or three years and in some cases over longer periods, where this can be justified. We support long- term strategies for dealing with poverty and hardship and therefore organisations which have received funding may re- apply for support if the effectiveness of the project can be demonstrated and it continues to meet our criteria and priorities.

In most cases, we undertake post evaluation monitoring and review of grant recipients and our findings will influence any decision to return for funding for the same project or a different one.

As our programme is relatively small, we cannot guarantee funding and applicants are advised to apply to other funders.

How are grants monitored?

The Trustees will ask for evidence that the grant has been spent for the purpose for which it was given. The form this will take will be decided on an individual basis and stated as part of the offer of a grant.
