Role Description for Trustees
Main Tasks
- With other Trustees to ensure that the Board fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the Charity;
- To take part in formulating and regularly reviewing the strategic aims of the Charity;
- With other Trustees to ensure that the policy and practices of the organisation are in keeping with its aims;
- With other Trustees to ensure that the organisation functions within the legal and financial requirements of a charitable organisation and works to achieve best practice;
- To reflect the Charity’s vision and principles, strategy and major policies at all times;
- To contribute specific skills, interests and contacts to support the Charity;
- Attend meetings of the Trustees and be an active member of the Board of Trustees in exercising its responsibilities and functions;
- To reflect the Trustees policies and concerns at full board and sub- committee meetings;
- To maintain good relations with the Chief Executive and all other staff;
- To take part in training sessions provided for the benefit of the Trustees;
- To fulfil such other duties and assignments as may be required from time to time by the Board of Trustees
